Status -
It is the first project ever to complete a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for maglev technology. The project is now at work on the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and expects to have completed the work by early 2007 in preparation for a Record of Decision on the project. Baltimore-Washington is eligible for 50% of the federal Maglev funding in SAFETEA-LU.

FRA is preparing the programmatic environmental impact statement (PEIS). The Las Vegas project will definitely receive other 50% of the federal funding for construction of Maglev.
Status -
Received FRA corridor development funding with a matching grnat from Georgia DOT. Studies determined the optimal project alignment would be from Atlanta Hartsfield Airport to Lovell Field in Chattanooga along the CSX and Route 75 corridor. The project has received tremendous support from local and private-business leaders. The porject has recieved $7 million in earmarks drom the SAFETEA-LU bill in 2005.
Status -
The Orange line is one of several different Maglev initiatives in Southern California. The proposed corridor would be from the Anaheim-Disneyland Resort north to the Staples Center then into Palmdale. The project received an earmark of $300 thousand in the SAFETEA-LU bill and will use the money to continue impact studies.
Status -
The SCAG project would link Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Ontario Airport (ONT) finally ending at March Air Force Base. The project was choosen by the FRA to be a finalist for TEA-21 money but the project has continued studies by utilizing corridor development money in TEA-21.
